Antique medallion in silver with violet painting
Medallions have always been popular. In the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, women carried pictures of their lover as a pendant in a short and long chain close to their hearts. Especially with this Art Nouveau medallion, the colored enamelling and the processing of the frame are rare. The enamelling shows a violet, the frame in silver shows floral elements. An original description can still be found inside. On the back of the pendant, a monogram and a date from 1902 have been worked into the surface of the medallion. Including a long pea chain. Illegibly marked, probably Robert Koch, Frankfurt & Baden Baden. Condition very good, age-related patina. Collectable!
