Art Nouveau brooch with guilloche enamel, in 830 silver
Marius Hammer was born in 1847. In 1871 he opened his workshop in his native city of Bergen, which existed until 1927. Hammer was a contemporary of Faberge and is considered one of the most important silversmiths in Norway. He was best known for his high quality silverware and jewelry.
Filigree Art Nouveau brooch from Norway. The elements are handcrafted in filigree silver and cord wire soldering and decorated with white and cobalt blue enamel. Two drops in white guilloche enamel are attached. Needle closure on the back. Marked, made by Marius Hammer, Bergen / Norway, around 1900.
