An incredibly detailed fine Victorian silver plated butter dish with removable original opaque glass insert. The domed lid finely engraved with floral borders and decorated with an eagle finial, the base has a pair of lion head ring handles and stands on four paw feet. Good condition with minor signs of age, no dents, cracks or repairs. The silver plating with superficial signs of use. Maker unknown. Absolutely collectible!
