Amber comes in all colours: yellow, beige, orange and even green. Butterscotch amber has a typical yellow to caramel colour. The term comes from the English language. The name is derived from the toffee or caramel-like to yellow colouring, as well as from the low hardness of the stone.
In this highly oval pendant from the Art Deco period, the amber is worked as a curved border. In the centre, a turquoise cabochon is set in a gold-plated frame. The outer setting of the piece of jewellery ends in a geometrically shaped holder and chain loop. A masterly fabrication! Comes with a long chain in silver. Condition very good!
