Art Deco silver brooch with opaque amber
Amber comes in many different colours: from almost white to completely black. Its transparency can also vary greatly. Amber has been used in jewellery for thousands of years, whether in natural forms, polished or cut into special shapes. The most popular type of amber at present is a yellow, milky, cloudy amber that is reminiscent of egg yolk or light-coloured caramel.
Beautiful Art Deco brooch in a geometric shape: a diamond, divided into four smaller diamonds in a cross shape by bead friezes, decorated in the centre with a round, opaque and egg-yolk amber cabochon in a bezel setting; two small chains hanging from eyelets in an arch at the lower edge. Created around 1930.
