Antique Brooch in Doublé Gold and Coral
Doublé consists of a gold alloy (500/er,585/er or 750/er gold) as the overlay layer and an underlay formed by a non-gold alloy.
From the fashion with oriental depictions of the turn of the century around 1900 a pretty art nouveau brooch in doublé gold. Semi-circular basic shape, set with coral balls in different sizes, representing a half moon. In the centre an abstract depiction of celestial bodies with a small oriental pearl. Pin catch on the back. Unknown manufacture, probably Pforzheim around 1900. Good condition.
