This exquisite antique fruit bowl, made of 800 silver with a crystal glass insert, comes from the renowned workshop of Bruckmann & Söhne, Heilbronn, and was produced for Krischer, the purveyor to the court in Düsseldorf, in the early 20th century. Its openwork, round body is richly decorated with a neo-baroque pattern consisting of rocailles, shells and roses and has an unengraved cartouche in the centre. The rocaille handles are widely flared. The precisely fitting crystal glass insert adorns the bowl with wavy olive-cut rims and a central star cut, emphasising its historicising charm. An outstanding example of Bruckmann's preference for historical shapes and decorations in excellent condition.
