The bowl presents itself in an extraordinary design, characterised by a rich vine leaf and grape decoration that not only pleases the eye, but also touches the senses. The multi-part, wavy and ascending godronised base forms the basis for the protruding, openwork wall, which runs in multi-part waves and is decorated with filigree grape and leaf motifs. The wall was additionally chiselled on the inside and outside to give the piece an even more detailed and finer finish.

A delicately decorated folding handle rounds off the overall look of this handled bowl and emphasises its functionality as well as its aesthetic appeal. Despite the lack of a maker's mark, the quality and finish of this piece speaks for itself and tells of the craftsmanship and artistic expression of a bygone era.
