Set of six teacups and saucers, made in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. Each piece is made of high-quality 835 silver, recognisable by the embossing of a crescent and a crown, as well as the company mark of the silverware factory Gebr. Kühn in Schwäbisch Gmünd, which was founded in 1860. The cups are characterised by a hemispherical shape that flares out slightly at the top, giving them an elegant appearance. The wall of each cup is godronised, creating an undulating, humped structure that gives the set a distinctive design. This is complemented by the carefully designed volute handles, which are not only practical but also a visual eye-catcher.
The saucers in the set are just as skilfully designed. They feature a godronised rim that is curved and has multiple profiled bands, giving the saucers a sophisticated and refined look. A special feature of this set is the ligatured monogram engraved on the edges of the saucers. These hand-engraved details emphasise the craftsmanship and care with which these pieces have been made.
Overall, the set is in very good condition, with no visible damage. It is an excellent example of fine silverware and is a testament to the high craftsmanship and tradition of silverware production in Germany. This set would make a splendid addition to any table setting, especially for collectors of antique silver or lovers of unusual table accessories.
