Art Deco egg cup in silver 800 / -
Wilhelm Binder's silver goods factory was founded in Schwäbisch Gmünd in 1868. It was one of the largest in its branch in the city and manufactured high-quality flat and body goods made of silver that were exported all over the world. Today these are highly sought after by collectors and museums.
Rare egg cup from the Art Deco period around 1915. Elegant shape on a curved stepped foot, balluster-shaped shaft. The dome wall is alternately polished smooth and decorated with a decoratively streaked, blackened surface in the form of geometric motifs. Cartouche with monogram in the center. Gold-plated interior. Probably designed by Karl Wahl (?) Around 1915 for Wilhelm Binder, Schwäbisch Gmünd. Condition very good, worth collecting!
