Salt cellars in 950/silver and cobalt blue glass
Emile Puiforcat (1897 - 1945) is the heir to a goldsmith and silversmith company that began in 1820 in the Mareis district of eastern Paris. The manufactory stands for silverware of the highest quality. Like the crystal company Saint-Louis, Puiforcat now belongs to the famous luxury group Hermes.
Extremely rare pair of French salt shakers in 950/- silver. The model was presented in the Puiforcat catalogue of 1900. Elegant Louis XVI style motif with ribbed body, laurel garlands and cross band. Glass inserts in cobalt blue crystal glass. No monograms. Each piece stamped with the French Minerva hallmark for 950/- silver and the famous Puiforcat mark. Condition good with age-related signs of use. Collectible. Glass undamaged.
