Jasper belongs to the quartz family and is rarely found in pure color. In most cases, adhesions with stones such as agates or opals or even mixtures of alumina show up. He is considered by his not too frequent occurrence as a sought after stone in jewelry pieces.

In this brooch, the jasper is cut in cabochon and adjusted symmetrically to the diamond shape of the brooch. Light inclusions in blue, gray and subtle black tones harmonize well with the red color of the gemstone. A 925 / silver hallmark can be found on the back. The silver pattern on the back and another hallmark, which unfortunately can not quite be seen, suggest a custom made by a designer.
