Art Nouveau Brooch with Window Enamel and Gemstones in 900/- Silver
The company was founded by Andreas Odenwald in 1882 as Kiehnle & Odenwald in Pforzheim. Many of the jewellery pieces created around 1900 suggest a stylistic connection to the Mathildenhöhe artists' colony in Darmstadt. Patriz Huber and Joseph Maria Olbrich were among the designers. The iridescent colour gradient in the window enamel (plique a jour) was one of A. Odenwald's trademarks. The high quality of the enamel work is particularly evident in this brooch, which is additionally decorated with an onyx cabochon and a lapis lazuli. The delicate design and the fine silver work was created around 1905. A particularly beautiful piece of jewellery from the Art Nouveau period. With a pin clasp on the back. Marked with the A.Odenwald brand, silver content "900" and "Protected". Excellent condition, worth collecting!
