Rey Urban (Stockholm 1929 - 2015), Swedish silversmith and designer.
Son of the director Gustaf Urban. Studied at the School of Art (metalwork department) from 1947, study trips to France, Germany, Brazil and England. As a designer he works for the company Chor and Age Fausing in Denmark, founding his own silversmith's in 1950. Urban Design combines craftsmanship with contemporary techniques. Urban is represented in the National Museum in Stockholm, among other places. (Source: Wikipedia)
Modern handmade bowl in sterling silver. Hammered, bulbous form with irregular rim. Signed Rey Urban, designer for Age Fausing in Copenhagen in the 1960s to 1970s. Excellent condition, collectible!
