Butter pans are a small vessel used to melt and pour (serve) butter. It's hard to imagine a richly set lunch table without it.The long handle made of ebony allows a good grip when heating the butter. The massively bulging wall of the pawl provides a sufficient capacity of 100 ml. It stands on 3 curved pointed feet in the typical Baroque style.
The pan was first marked in 1787 and then probably engraved as a Christmas present on December 24, 1854. Another engraving includes the monogram "MR" and a new date September 20, 1879. Unknown manufacturer.
