Vintage plate in silver 800 / - with emerald green jade
Typical characteristics of the so-called Martelé - the surface created by the hammer - are the traces of impact, which are not worked away but left as a decorative element. This technique was popular in the Art Deco period between the world wars, but was taken up again and again in the later 20th century.
Extraordinary, large fruit or fruit plate in solid silver with rare emerald green jade stones. Embossed silver with hammer mark features, wavy flag in which 6 oval cut jade stones of the best quality have been set in frame settings. In particular, the emerald green jade was even more valuable than gold in some cultures. Marked, made in the workshop of Giovanni Mascheroni in Milan / Italy from 1943. Excellent condition, worth collecting!
