Art Nouveau brooch in 900/- silver and pink tourmaline
The company was founded by Andreas Odenwald in 1882 as Kiehnle & Odenwald in Pforzheim. Many of the jewellery pieces created around 1900 suggest a stylistic connection to the Mathildenhöhe artists' colony in Darmstadt. Patriz Huber and Joseph Maria Olbrich were among the designers.
Geometrically shaped design of an Art Nouveau brooch by A. Odenwald. Stereometric, openwork design, set in the centre with a pink tourmaline cabochon in a frame setting. The delicate design and the fine silver work was made around 1910. Pin catch on the back. Marked with the A.Odenwald brand, silver content "900" and "Protected". Condition very good with natural patina.
