Beautiful antique brooch from the 19th century in gold-plated silver. The diamond-shaped brochure body consists of abstract acanthus leaves and curled tendrils. In the center of the brooch there is an enameled oval decorative element. The brooch was made in the same process as the so-called foam gold. This technique describes pressed or chased gold or silver sheets that have been soldered together. The cavity in between was often filled with putty to help the delicate elements deform. A delicate and rare piece of jewelry! Created around 1840 (Biedermeier). Marked, manufacturer unknown. Condition: very good.
