Art Nouveau introduced completely new worlds of form and colour to jewellery. Around 1900, the city of Pforzheim was the jewellery centre of Germany; the most famous jewellery manufactories in the country worked there, such as Theodor Fahrner, Levinger & Bissinger, F. Zerrener and many others. In 1900, Pforzheim jewellery factories were represented at the World Exhibition in Paris for the first time.
Elegant brooch in geometric art nouveau shapes. Heavily openwork, decorated with hanging garlands of roses, blue enamel and a hanging pearl. The design is reminiscent of the designs by Georg Kleemann. Marked with 800. Probably Pforzheim around 1900. Condition very good with original patina.
