Antique, silver-plated carafe from the Art Nouveau style
Various brands were used at WMF during its 150-year production. The well-known brand "Strauß" comes from the German word for Strauß "Der Strauss" after Daniel Straub, one of the founders. The G in the brand stands for the city of Geislingen an der Fils and near Ulm in Baden-Württemberg.The designers included Hans Peter, Albert Meyer, Hermann Obrist, Albin Müller and Peter Behrens.
Large and magnificent Art Nouveau carafe with an olive cut glass body. Geometric shapes alternate with abstract floral decor. Ostrich brand around 1905. No chips, age-related patina, worth collecting!
