Britannia metal, also called 'Britannium', is a group of pewter alloys with a bluish, silvery white color. The alloy is mainly used for castings, including u. a. Pewter, ornaments or buttons.

Magnificent Art Nouveau cabaret bowl. Two-part leaf shape with a moving contour and a billowing edge. The bowl stands on roots-like feet that merge into a handle. Inside two matching, removable inserts made of glass, one of which has been reground (see photos). The glass inserts are a free side dish, otherwise in very good condition. Marked, manufactured in WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik), rare WMFB stamp for Brittannia metal; around 1900.
