Unique antique brooch with three gorgeous cameo stones. The brooch has a symmetrical shape and is slightly bent. The upper rim is straight, while the centre of the lower rim has the form of a petal. The side parts of the petal element have a s-shape and connect the short, straight end rims. All rims are decorated with cast volute and rocaille elements. In the centre is mounted a big oval cameo in open bezel setting, which was cut from a layer onyx. The cameo shows the sitting goddess Hera with a peacock. On the both side of the central cameo are mounted two smaller oval cameos in open bezel settings, showing profile heads looking outside. The cameos ware probably cut in south Italy, on the back side are the signatures of the cutter. The brooch is to close with a needle with a safety gadget. Not marked, gold content tested. Early victorian.
