Wonderful late victorian soap dish with frosted glass inlay. Oval shape, curved, gadrooned walls with relief decor in form of long, slightly twisted acanthus leaves with serrated rim and engraved details. Smooth centre and spherical foots. Removable glass bowl from frosted transparent glass, following exactly the walls of the silver bowl. Partly gold plated. Marked, made in in Sheffield/England, 1894, makers mark not known. Condition good. Glass bowl without chips! A really beautiful piece!
