Antique silver flat and hollow ware from our stock
An extraordinairy and very rare georgian yarn basket from the early 19th century. The walls are made from delicate wire filigree. The basket is hanging on chains, which are mounted on a half-bangle. The bangle is decorated with a big faceted peridot stone and can be put over the wrist. Inside were probably stored yarn, crochet hook and a handkerchief, which the lady was working on. At the rim is mounted an eye for the yarn. On the front and back side are two oval medailons with engraving and a year "1823". Marked (IFK), maker unknown. Very good condition!
