Antique Art Nouveau cigarette case with a gorgeous painted enamel scene with small dogs, smoking and drinking. The designer of the motif is the painter Carl Robert Arthur Thiele (1860-1936), who created it for a postcard from the year 1907 (see last picture), famous painter of funny and popular animal pictures. Painter of the enamel picture is not known. The case is flat, square, and has a meander frieze frame, runnung around the picture. Inside gold plated. Marked, master mark illegible, made in Austria, probably Vienna, about 1907.
