Antique and vintage porcelain from our stock
Big figure of a male capercaillie resp. heather cock from Thuringia. The bird is very natural and expressive depicted. Especially the feather dress is remarkable. Very interesting color: transparent glazed and therefore white, only with some color in the eyes; probably a rare albino bird! Marked in green under glaze, made in the porcelain manufactory of Karl Ens in Volkstedt/Thuringia/Germany, mark used in the years 1919-1972. Condition: tiny chip on a tail feather, but still excellent. A really wonderful figure!
