Antique bronze vessels from our stockThis footed bowl is really rare: designed by the artist Louis-Constant Sévin (1821-1888), world famous sculptor, decorator and designer of furniture and bronze items of the historicism and eclecticism. The vessel was cast in the firm of Ferdinand Barbedienne in Paris (La Maison Barbedienne), famous until today for it´s bronze figures and vessels. The design unites floral and geometric pattern, and is typical for the "decorative art" of the epoch. Round, flat base, curved shaft and wide open bowl with slim neck. High handles. On the walls abstract-floral pattern and natural depicted raspbeeries resp. blackbeeries with rose leaves. Band-shaped handles, heavy bent and open worked with geometrical pattern, which reminds on celtic patterns. The bowl has double walls and was probably made for carrying ice.
