Vintage silver bracelet with amethysts by Hector Aguilar - Mexico, ca. 1945-1950
A rare piece of jewellery art with modernist expressiveness: this outstanding vintage bracelet comes from the workshop of the important Mexican silversmith Héctor Aguilar (1905-1966) - a key figure in the Mexican jewellery movement of the 20th century.
Made between 1945 and 1950, the bracelet fascinates with its avant-garde composition: large-format, abstract square-concave links whose surfaces catch the light and reflect it elegantly. Discreetly decorated at the edges, they create an interplay of movement and structure that lends depth and dynamism to the design.
Each link is set with a natural amethyst in an oval or round shape - seemingly random but artfully arranged, the gemstones rest in prong settings that emphasise their transparency and colour intensity.
Made from high-quality 925 sterling silver and stamped with ‘Hecho en Mexico’, ‘Sterling’, the eagle mark and Hector Aguilar's characteristic master mark, this bracelet is a coveted collector's item with a museum-like appeal.
A real eye-catcher - sensual, modern and deeply rooted in the history of Mexican design.
