Burkhard Oly (1938-2008) began training at the State Drawing Academy in Hanau in 1957 with his later wife Monika.
Oly was awarded the Bavarian State Prize in 1963 and the Grand Silver Prize of Mexico in 1971.
In the 1970s and 80s, the precious metal stamp designed by Oly with a smile made up of the three letters of the family name became a trademark in jewelry design.
Interestingly shaped abstract brooch with a rock crystal. Solid cast, irregular body, decorated with undulating depressions and set with a rock crystal in a claw setting. Partially blackened surface. Back with paperback. Marked, manufactured in the jewelry studio of Monika and Burkhard Oly (Studio Oly) in Gelnhausen, around 1970-1980.
