Antique Teapot with Rechaud in 925/- Sterling Silver
The special feature of a swivel jug is its holder: the mechanism allows pouring without having to lift the heavy jug, which is full. The rechaud fulfils two functions: as a holder for the pot and as a teapot warmer that keeps the contents of the pot warm. Elegantly shaped teapot from the Art Deco period. Oval body, flat hinged lid with domed centre and wooden knob. Low-set, profiled spout and curved wooden handle with decorative element. The body of the teapot and the rechaud are decorated with a pressed egg stick border. The rechaud stands on paw feet. Made by James Deakin & Sons, Sheffield 1925.
