A butter dish is a small vessel for melting and pouring (serving) butter. It is hard to imagine a luncheon table without it. The ebony handle allows a good grip when heating the butter. The solid, bulging walls of the pan offer a sufficient capacity of 125 ml. It stands on 3 curved pointed feet in typical baroque style.
Elegant butter dish in silver. The bulged wall on three pointed feet with a wide spout and attached wooden handle. Marked, made by Peter R. Hinnerup, Denmark 1857. Condition very good with age-related patina.
