Antique garnet necklace in tombac
In 1854, Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sissi) was given magnificent garnet stones from Bohemian mines on her honeymoon in the crown land of Bohemia. She had a whole parure made from them and presented herself in garnet splendour to Viennese society at a court ball. Since then, the garnet stone has conquered the jewellery world of Europe.
Beautiful feminine necklace with garnet stones. Deep red bohemian garnet stones in different shapes and sizes were combined to form circulating flowers in gradient sizes. The stones are held by lobes. A delicate gold chain with a spring ring clasp completes the composition.
