Martin Mayer Mainz and Pforzheim was a bijouterie manufacturer for whom well-known designers such as Peter Behrens, Hans Christiansen and Patriz Huber worked. Elaborate exhibits were made here in Art Nouveau style, which can be found today in various museums and are sought after by collectors.Adorable silver tin with floral decor. Oval shape with retracted wall and hinge cover. Lid lavishly decorated with chased or engraved leaf trimmings and flowers, in the middle a circular medallion. Additional enamelled, dark blue thread insert. Gold-plated interior. Created around 1900. Marked on the bottom with 925 and the Martin Mayer stamp. Additional marking on the edge of the lid for Sweden and Swedish silver standard. Excellent condition, worth collecting!
