Pill boxes were initially simple, small boxes made of wood or sheet metal, in which a stock of tablets could be transported hygienically and safely against loss. Later, works of art from silver and goldsmithing can be documented for this. The shapes could be round, oval, heart-shaped or square.
Enchanting box (can also be used as a pill box) with decor. Round, flat shape with hinged lid. The surface is lavishly decorated with a fine, geometric structure, the lid is surrounded by engraved borders. Gilded inside. Marked, Bihlmeyer & Co, Schwäbisch Gmünd around 1915. Handcrafted, excellent condition.
