The special feature of a gallery tray is the openwork design of the edge. This is usually characterized by sticks, bars or round openings. In this tray, the gallery edge is additionally decorated with floral engravings. The edge is to allow a safe carrying of bowls, glasses and decanters.
Magnificent large gallery tray around 1920 with rich chased decor. Oval shape with additional curves with floor space. Broken gallery with rich Feston decor. The surface is lushly decorated with abstract tendrils, acanthus leaves, rocailles and fields. Marked, manufactured by Viners of Sheffield Cutlers Company. Condition: good .
