Beautiful, large historical brooch in a diamond shape made of fire-gilt silver (checked and guaranteed), worked in openwork ornamental form, which is composed of leaf and tendril motifs. In the middle, the brooch is set horizontally with a diamond-shaped faceted amethyst. Four tourmalines were used in a cruciform shape around the amethysts, which in turn were flanked by differently colored enameled elements. The outer edge is covered with teardrop-shaped amethysts and peridots, which are also flanked by enameled elements. The brooch has simple needling with C-hooks on the back.
Unmarked, probably made in France around 1850. Condition very good.
