Vintage hammered jug in 800 / - silver
Typical characteristics of the so-called Martelé - the surface created by the hammer - are the traces of impact, which are not worked away but are left as a decorative element. This technique was popular in the Art Deco period between the world wars, but was repeatedly adopted in the later 20th century.
Juice or water jug ??made of 800/1000 silver. Flat, slightly rising base and round, bulbous body with a protruding mouth. 6-pass driven, protruding strap handle with thumb rest. Marked. Made in Padua / Italy between 1944-1968 by F.LLI Zanovello Bruno. Handcrafted, very good condition!
