Garnets are rock-forming minerals that occur in many variants. Translated, the name means "grain". This term is probably due to its appearance, which is always reminiscent of a pomegranate core. Even in antiquity, one tells the garnet that it naturally illuminates its interior.
At the present time we often associate garnet jewelery with pompous necklaces, or with stars and flower pictures. In this antique jewelery work around 1930, the decor is in the background. Only the central piece of the brooch forms a blossom. The delicate brooch is adorned with beautiful, deep red and faceted garnets.
