This type of bracelet has been worn in England since the 19th century, its shape reminiscent of the domestic gates or fences, hence the English name "gate bracelet". At that time, they symbolised romantic love and loyalty. Today, these bracelets are coveted collectors' items.

Beautiful link bracelet with a heart-shaped lock. Movable interlocking elements in the shape of a fence, to be closed by a heart-shaped padlock, which can also be worn as a pendant. Marked, made in London in 1982.
