Antique centrepiece in 800/- silver and glass bowl
Splendid, large centrepiece of solid silver with a glass bowl. Round, godroned base on three feet decorated with abstract acanthus leaves. Shaft in the form of a slender baluster with attached handles, urn-shaped receptacle for the glass bowl. Surface partially polished, partially decorated with flowers and tendrils in relief. Removable, cut and segmented glass bowl with wavy rim. Made around 1900 by the silver manufacturer Bruckmann & Söhne in Heilbronn. Condition very good, glass bowl with period wear. Intact, no chips!
