Emile Puiforcat (1897 - 1945) is the heir to a goldsmith and silversmith company that began in 1820 in the Mareis district of eastern Paris. The manufactory stands for silverware of the highest quality. Like the crystal company Saint-Louis, Puiforcat today belongs to the famous luxury group Hermes.
Art Nouveau saliere in 950/- silver. Pretty art nouveau motif with abstract leaves, fruits and tendrils. Glass insert in cobalt blue crystal glass. No monograms. Marked with the French Minerva hallmark for 950/- silver and the famous Puiforcat mark circa 1900. Condition good with age-related signs of use. Glass undamaged.
