Various brands were used at WMF during its 150-year production. The well-known brand "Strauß" comes from the German word for Strauß "Der Strauss" after Daniel Straub, one of the founders. The G in the brand stands for the city of Geislingen an der Fils and near Ulm in Baden-Württemberg.The designers included Hans Peter, Albert Meyer, Hermann Obrist, Albin Müller and Peter Behrens.
Large and splendid Art Nouveau jardiniere with removable glass insert, which was also etched and sanded. Quero oval shape with handle. Geometric shapes alternate with abstract floral decor. Ostrich stamp around 1905. No chips, excellent condition, worth collecting!
