Antique niello brooch in silver with zircon and marcasites
Niello, or tula refers to an ornamentation on silver, more rarely gold, consisting of engraved drawings or drawings pressed in through steel plates and filled with a black colour mass.
Antique ladies brooch in sterling silver. Bar brooch with leaf design in niello technique, set with a luminous zircon in frame setting, border set with numerous marcasites. Pin catch on the back. Made around 1920, maker unknown. Condition very good.
