Rare, rich hand painted enamel box (snuff box) from Vienna. Rectangular shape with hinged lid, mounting in gold plated brass with rich engraving. Each big wall is decorated with another mythological scene:
1. Judgement of Paris, after a paintig of Hendrik van Balen
2. Diana bathing (Diana and Actaeon)
3. Amor standing in front of Zeus and Hera
4. Apollo with 3 muses (on the mount Helicon?)
The small walls are decorated with palmettes, arches and flowers. Not marked, made in Vienna about 1880.
