Rarely beautiful teapot in sterling silver 925/- from the early Victorian period 1840. Squat gourd form on four shell-crowned scroll feet. Segmented, domed hinged lid with pumpkin blossom. Snail handle with insulators and finial with pumpkin leaves. Elegantly shaped spout in the form of a pumpkin stem. Made by the silversmiths John & William Barnard (1829-1846), London 1840. Condition very good, museum and collectible.
