Antique cutlery for 12 persons in 800/- silver
Antique silver cutlery for 12 persons. Splendid neo-rococo design, decorated with rocailles, flowers and leaves, diagonal groove patterns and cartouches. The handle ends of the knives were decorated with leaf patterns and a knob. Marked, made by the silver manufactory Koch & Bergfeld for the jeweller and royal court supplier Josef Krischer in Düsseldorf, around 1890. Impeccable condition, all blades firm.
The cutlery is probably a special production, following the cutlery patterns 24.000 and 21.700. Lit.: Schümann, Silber aus Bremen, p.28 and 32; Handwerk und Maschinenkraft , p.79.
