Silver jewelry from Mexico is very popular worldwide. The pieces of jewelry, not infrequently inspired by pre-Columbian or Aztec cultures, have been handcrafted in small jewelry workshops from local silver deposits since the 1920s and decorated with locally occurring precious and semi-precious stones.
Beautiful brooch from Mexico. Abstract, transverse oval shape, decorated with spheres and figures inspired by the jewelry of the Aztec era. An oval, natural lapis lazuli is used in the middle. Closed back, with paperback. Marked at 800, probably made in Mexico around 1950.
