Huge, gorgeous shaped dish cover dome. (meat cover). High domed, oval shape with contoured rim. Massive handle with leaf-shaped ends. At the frontal wall engraved Arms of Fane with three gauntlets, mantling, coronet, helm and motto "NE VILE FANO" ("Disgrace not the altar"). From the property of the 11th Earl of Westmorland, John Fane. Marked, made by von Smith, Sissons & Co. in Sheffield/England, 1848. Excellent condition!
