In a bygone era, when craftsmanship and attention to detail characterised everyday life, a magnificent set of cutlery was created from fine 800 silver. This exceptional set, designed for six people, bears witness to the high level of craftsmanship of the Koch und Bergfeld manufactory from Bremen and proudly bears the rare cutlery pattern 27000 from 1903.
Each fork in this set is characterised by its narrow, long tines, which merge into perfectly proportioned conical handle ends. The knives, whose handles have an elegant oval cross-section, lie comfortably in the hand and add a touch of noblesse to every meal.
The cutlery handles are true masterpieces of the art of engraving. Relief decorations of wreaths, ribbons and laurel tendrils wind gracefully around architectural elements reminiscent of the magnificent buildings of times gone by. These filigree decorations catch the light and give the cutlery a lively sparkle that fascinates onlookers.
Although one of the knife blades has a small blemish, the cutlery is otherwise in excellent condition. The undamaged pieces tell stories of festive tables and celebratory occasions at which they once took centre stage.
The significance of this extraordinary set has been widely recognised in the literature. Works such as "Handwerk und Maschinenkraft, Koch & Bergfeld Bremen" on page 79 and "Schümann, Silber aus Bremen" on page 37 document the history and masterly production of this cutlery and emphasise its rarity and cultural value.
With this cutlery, every meal becomes an experience that brings the splendour of bygone times into the present and gives guests the feeling of being part of a glorious history.
