Gorgeous figure of a big raven in snow white porcelain. The bird, half sitting half jumping with half open wings, is watching a small mouse, which is hiding under leaves besides the ravens feets. The depiction of the bird is excellent, lifelike but also an independent art work. The original so called "Ens-birds" from the hand of the designer Franz Rauch are famous until today and loved by many collectors of antique porcelain. This figure is in opposit to all the other colorful hand painted birds monochrome. This gives the reason for its beauty and unique art. Made in the porcelain fabric Porzellanfabrik Karl Ens in Volkstedt/Thuringia/Germany, in 1929. Marked. Excellent condition, no chips.
